Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses high frequency sound waves to construct real-time images of the human body. There is no radiation exposure or injections associated with ultrasound imaging which makes this modality an extremely safe and painless diagnostic tool. 

Before the Examination

Ultrasound examinations are simple, safe and painless procedures. Preparations for an ultrasound exam will vary depending on the type of the exam. Some procedures may require a full bladder prior the examination.

During the Examination

• You will be asked to lie on a cushioned examination table and a gel will be applied on the skin.
• Our doctors will press a hand-held device against the area being studied to capture the images.
• Examinations normally take 10-20 minutes but may take longer depending on the procedure requested.
